THE SHORTEST ROUTE TO NORTH CAPE IS VIA BURTRÄSK.

North Cape is not called Europe’s northernmost terminus for nothing. It is situated far north of the Arctic Circle where the Atlantic Ocean meets the icy waters of the Arctic Ocean. It’s hard to get any closer to the North Pole than this. The journey there is obviously very long and tedious, so why not take a shortcut through Burträsk?

Burträsk is perfectly located along the E4 and is actually the shortest route you can take between Umeå and Skellefteå. And definitely the most beautiful. Instead of road barriers and numerous trucks, you can drive through Europe’s longest birch parkway. And you can stop along the way to experience the legend and history of Västerbottensost cheese.
